What’s Hot in the Kitchen Space for 2023?

Published: 21 November 2022

Our round up of kitchen trends 2023 reveals the key colours, textures and finishes to suit every kitchen space.

When it comes to the best kitchen trends for 2023, it can be a minefield of ideas and designs. We talked to Graham our Product Manager on returning from the SICAM Exhibition in Pordenone, Italy, where he explored the latest trends and was inspired by market leading brands in the industry.

Graham explains how the 2023 forecast builds on the direction that design’s been moving in, providing continuity as trends continue to evolve. The rich blues & greens that have been popular throughout 2022 will expand into lighter shades of sky and denim blues and paler greens. Earthy, warmer hues will take center stage along with a rise in popularity of neutrals for a more tonal colour palette. Shades of taupe, creams, and earthy desert beiges mixed with browns, greys and touches of black give a sophisticated take on a natural palette. The colours we use in our homes often reflect the times we’re living through, so it’s no wonder the new colour trends emerging as we get closer to 2023 are grounding and solid, providing spaces of calm and inspired by the connection we share with nature and the beauty of landscapes that surround us.

Continuing the nod to nature, textured surfaces and in particular reeded style materials were the main feature of the SICAM Exhibition. With all the leading brands in the industry onboard we can be sure texture is a key design trend going into 2023.
Reeded? Ribbed? Fluted? In simple terms this design consists of a series of vertical grooves in a repeat pattern adding a layer of sophistication and texture. It is a very new and exciting concept to kitchen and bedroom design. We expect to see this as a very striking visual feature within designs, especially in kitchen islands. Combining ribbed surfaces with smooth finishes will provide a mix and match look that is really unique and highly contemporary.

The ridged look also translates to hardware, The Barrington range of handles by Hendel & Hendel embraces this trend perfectly with statement hand – finished ridged details creating a distinctive look and elegant feel. Where stainless steel and chrome fixtures are often the obvious choice, for hardware we are seeing a growing market for fashion-led brassware finishes from matt black to brushed brass and bronze. This trend highlights the focus on creating a high end look with a touch of luxury and glamour.

In recent years, kitchens have become more stylish and tailored for individual needs, positioned as the real heart of the home. Individuals want to show who they are through their homes, cultivating a space that is welcoming, inviting, and meets their lifestyle. The perfect combination of style and function.
